Dill Restaurant – Iceland | Globe City Guide

This was probably the best we ate our entire Iceland trip! Dill Restaurant was truly a treat and the intimate vibe is felt from the moment you walk in the door. There are only about 12 tables in the place, so make sure to make reservations well in advance! We put our reservation 3 months in advance via the calendar on their site, mainly to just play it safe, and we were glad we did so we didn’t have to worry about it.

When you get there, there is place to put your coats before you’re seated. There is an open kitchen area right in the middle of the restaurant, where they prepare all of the food and plates. Your waiter will provide you with a menu that shows all of the courses, which vary overtime. As you can see from the image to the left, we received version #159. The menu doesn’t fully turnover often, but they do substitute dishes in frequently based on available Icelandic ingredients. The menu changes numbers only when the menu fully overturns – a fun fact our waiter told us!

When we asked for the wine list, there were options from about $90+ / 9,988 ISK+ and we thought it vastly outweighed the drink pairing option, which would’ve been $107 / 11.900 ISK per person. We decided to just share a bottle of wine for the two of us.
