Not up for the stress of cooking a Christmas meal this year? If that’s the case, there are plenty of restaurants that are open on Christmas Day.

Some restaurant chains will be open for dining in, and many more restaurants are offering holiday meals for takeaway on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, so you can still enjoy a meal at home without having to cook or worry about cleaning a pile of pots, pans and oven dishes after the fact.

We’ve rounded up a list of restaurants that are open on Christmas Day, either for dine-in or pick-up options. Some of these restaurants require you to place pre-orders a few days before Christmas, so be sure to check ordering deadlines with your nearest location.

Also, as with all business hours, these Christmas hours may vary by location, so we definitely recommend still calling ahead and confirming hours—and the details of any holiday dining deals—before heading out to any of these establishments on Christmas Day.

Restaurants Open Christmas 2021

Boston Market

Select Boston Market locations will be open on Christmas Day, serving a traditional plated meal for $13.99 that includes your choice of ham, turkey or chicken, as well as two sides, a dinner roll and a slice of apple or pumpkin pie. Romano’s Macaroni Grill

Macaroni Grill is open 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, according to their website.

IHOP

“IHOP will be open on Christmas this year, but guests should check with their local IHOP as hours will vary by location,” a company spokesperson told Parade.com.

Ruth’s Chris Steak House

The steakhouse is open on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, according to their website. They are also offering takeaway Christmas meals for those celebrating at home.

Arby’s

Some Arby’s restaurants may be open on Christmas Day but it varies by location, so definitely call ahead.

Domino’s Pizza

Holiday hours vary by store and franchise, a company spokesperson said, so it’s best to call ahead to your local branch to check their Christmas opening details.

Need a caffeine fix on Dec. 25? Christmas opening times will vary by Starbucks location, so it’s best to call ahead or check their website before heading out.

“Store hours vary by location and stores may occasionally adjust their hours based on business and customer needs,” a spokesperson told Parade.com. “We recommend customers look for specific store hours using the Starbucks app or by visiting our website store locator."

McDonald’s

“Hours vary by location, but most McDonald’s are open on holidays," a company spokesperson told Parade.com.

Buca di Beppo

The Italian restaurant chain opens at 11:00 a.m. on Christmas Day.

“Make a reservation at one of the best restaurants for Christmas lunch or dinner and we’ll make sure your holiday is festively fun,” the company says on their website.

Waffle House

Waffle House never sleeps! The chain is traditionally open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Shoney’s

The family-friendly chain will open at 11:00 a.m. on Christmas Day with dine-in and to-go options.

“You and your family can enjoy all your holiday favorites from our All You Care to Eat Freshly Prepared Food Bar,” their website says. “We're talking slow-roasted turkey, tender sliced ham, roast beef with mushrooms and gravy and all your favorite (sides).”

Fogo de Chao

All U.S. Fogo de Chao locations will be open on Christmas, a company spokesperson confirmed. Christmas Eve hours are 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., and Christmas Day hours are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Benihana

Benihana restaurants will be open on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, but the company says they have not yet confirmed hours.

Del Taco

“Many of our locations will be open on Christmas but will vary by location, including hours of operations, dine-in, take-out and delivery availability,” a company spokesperson said.

Village Inn locations will be open on Christmas Day from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for dine-in and pie pickup.

Baker's Square

Baker's Square locations will be open on Christmas Day from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. for dine-in and pie pickup.
