Eagle Snacks is making a comeback to grocery store aisles, and is running a sweepstakes to celebrate its snack foods.

The consumer packaged goods company has partnered with American Eagle Foundation to kick off “The Bald and the Beautiful” sweepstakes, which asks people to name and vote on their favorite bald-headed celebrity for a chance to win Eagle Snack products, or a family getaway.

Visitors to www.enjoyeagle.com enter by naming a favorite bald celebrity by Nov. 6. Five celebrity finalists will be selected, where one entertainer will be named, after a consumer vote, the official Bald and the Beautiful winner. One voter will be selected at random for a shot at the grand prize: a four-day trip to Eagle’s Ridge Resort in Tennessee, a year’s supply of Eagle Snacks, four water theme park tickets to the Dollywood theme park and a guided tour of the American Eagle Foundation’s U.S. Eagle Center.

Eagle Snacks isn’t the first brand to come back after a long absence. Kellogg recently brought back its Hydrox cookie brand in time for its 100th anniversary.

The snack company emerged in the late 1970s by former owner Anheuser-Busch, and widely known for its honey roasted peanuts and small pretzels on airline flights. The company, however, wanted to Anheuser-Busch wanted to focus on its core beer business and sold it in 1995 to Procter & Gamble.

In 2005, the brand was licensed to Reserve Brands. Scott Lazar is the firm’s president and CEO, who oversees the Eagle Snacks brand. The company in late 2007 began pitching Eagle snacks to grocery retailers. It will adding two new items to the line, Poppers and Bursts, and products are now hitting store shelves. Close to 4,000 stores plan to distribute the snacks nationwide, the company said.

To support the re-launch, Eagle Snacks is also offering a money back guarantee on its products. People who buy snack items through Feb. 1 and aren’t satisfied can receive double their money back by filling out a form on the Web site.

Online marketing supports the promotion. Marden-Kane is handling the contest administration and Ruder Finn is handling PR.
