THE MOST COMMON QUESTIONS ABOUT EYELASH EXTENSION TRAINING

What different eyelash extension methods are there to learn?
If you would like to offer a full range of eyelash extensions for length and volume, you should learn the following techniques: 1: 1 method called classic application where 1 eyelash extension is applied to one natural lash and 2-6D russian volume method.

The techniques are usually selected individually for each client depending on the condition of their natural eyelashes, their facial features, and of course their expectations of a finished look. You should learn each technique to be able to appeal to a larger group of clients.

Which eyelash extension technique shall I learn first?
The classic one to one technique. It is a basic technique and every lash extensions stylist started with learning this lash extensions treatment first. When learning the classic lash technique application, you will find out more about different types of lashes, how glue works, anatomy and physiology. You will learn how to apply the lashes and map them, so they look symmetrical. You will also find out more about contraindications to the treatment of eyelash extensions and learn different treatment stages.

Can I be trained in classic and Russian volume eyelash extensions in one course?
We spend on each technique a whole day – theory and practical, therefore it is impossible to complete both techniques in one course, as we would have to reduce the time we spend on explaining the theory and the hands-on session by half.

Another issue is the student’s skill. It is a good idea to learn the classic application first, learn it properly and become comfortable with the application, before proceeding to the Russian volume which is an advanced technique. Lack of practice and the desire to learn everything at once very often ends up with the student not being able to master the more advanced techniques and becoming discouraged and frustrated. It is better to do little steps but keep moving forward.

Will I get a diploma/certificate after the lash extensions training?
Yes! Of course. We expect you to show us your 4 case studies showing that you are capable to apply the nice and clean sets of lashes. We can either send you your brand new, beautiful certificate or it could be picked up from our salon ?

How much is classic eyelash extensions training?
The price of the training very often depends on many factors, whether the course is lead by professionals or people who do not have the appropriate qualifications to teach others. If a trainer does or doesn’t apply eyelash extensions on daily basis and is not up to par with the latest techniques.

In the case of reputable training, the amount for the 1: 1 method is about PLN 1,000, and the amount for the other methods depends on whether we decide to take the course in a package, etc.

Our classic foundation training costs £399 and includes full student kit. We cover all the necessary information and offer ongoing support to all our students.

How much can I earn as an eyelash extension technician?
This question is probably asked by every person who thinks of becoming an eyelash extension technician. Eyelash styling can be a very profitable activity, especially if you are eager to work and are motivated to constantly develop and grow. If you would be located in a large city you can expect to earn more like with any other job. Of course – each technician starts somewhere and cannot ask to be paid the same as someone else with years of experience. But if you are determined, and you’d like to learn and get better you can replace your full-time job with fewer hours doing lashes, and still earn the same money, but having much more time for yourself or your family. If you think about making eyelash extensions an additional source of income, then depending on how many hours or days you would like to work, you can still earn some extra money that will pay for example for really nice holidays or going out.

There are many choices, you can work in a salon, if you’d like to work for yourself and become self-employed you can work from home, become a mobile lash technician and visit clients in their own homes, or rent a room in a beauty salon or lease a salon. Depending on what you choose and if you have any overheads that can reflect on your earnings too.

How to find the best eyelash extensions training course?
Very often, when looking for a first lash training, we do not pay attention to its quality, more focusing on the price. Unfortunately, apart from saving a few pounds, it usually ends in disaster. Starting with a cheap training is not worth the money and time. And it actually turns out to be much more expensive, when you start counting the cost of failed lash applications, wasted products, lost clients who are not happy with the service, and the cost of another proper lash training course.

Don’t worry we all have been there (myself included, yes!)

The best choice when looking for a training course (not only in lash extensions that applies to any beauty training) is to look for a trainer with a lot of experience, who is actively applying eyelash extensions on daily basis. You don’t want to learn from someone who applied lashes last time 3 or 4 years ago and is not in touch with the latest techniques. You should always look at your trainers work and think if you actually like it if this is the type of work you would be happy with. And, of course, look at the reviews and their student’s work. Those are the best criteria when looking for your lash training school.

In addition, you’d like the course to be accredited so you can get insurance and work legally after completing the course.

Also, it is very important to receive help after the training day is finished. What if you have some questions a few days after the course, or if you find something difficult during your practice on a model and you are stuck? The after training help and mentoring takes a very important part.

Who can apply?
To apply for an individual eyelash extension course for beginners no previous beauty background is required and we welcome anyone who has a passion for beauty and eyelash extensions, and who wants to receive the best eyelash extensions training. We do advise that you should have good eyesight for close-up work, a steady hand, and attention to detail.

How long is the course?
Classic lash course for beginners takes one day, and it is very intensive. When you practised on your friends and may have some additional questions we are happy to give you unlimited online mentoring. Your assessment is taken when you have reached the required skill level to be a professional.

What is covered during our lash training course?
You’ll start with some Pre-course Study, which is all the information you need to know before attending the course. It contains anatomy, physiology and health and safety information.

During the training, we will discuss the theory including all the important questions that your customers may ask you about. Then we will move onto the practical skill-building part where you will learn all the important things.

After our lunch-break, we will move to the fun part of a hands-on workshop. This is when you will be applying lash extensions to your model. We work in small groups of no more than 4-5 students per class, this way we can give you 100% of our attention. What else will I need for this lash course?
You will need a product kit. A student kit worth over £100 is included in the cost of your course, all the materials will be provided for you on the day. You will also need to bring a model for you to practice on. If you are unable to find a model, we can help you find one for an additional fee, please let us know as soon as you booked your eyelash extensions training course so that we can help you with this.

During the Covid 19 pandemic, as per government regulations, we are unable to use members of the public as models. Because we know how important it is to get the hands-on training, our students will still receive a good practical session only they will be practising on other students instead of on their models.

What clothes should I wear for the lash course?
Avoid wearing any hand jewellery that may restrict your hand movement or get in the way (bangles or hanging wrist jewellery may brush against clients/model face, or get caught in their hair, rings can restrict how comfortably you will be holding your tweezers).

Comfy clothes without too long a sleeve length.
Hair tied up.
Nails – you may want to reduce the length of long nail extensions

What time does the eyelash course start and finish?
We start at 10.30 am
Lunch break 2-3 pm

Are there any refreshments/lunch provided during the lash course?
We have cold and hot drinks available. Lunch is not included but we have plenty of shops and restaurants nearby on Ware high street that serves delicious food.

Please note that during the pandemic following the covid19 restrictions we won’t be able to remove masks/shields inside the salon. You will be able to have something to eat and drink during the 1-hour break.

I do not live locally to Ware or Hertfordshire, are there any places nearby that I could stay at during the lash course?
