Fashion Design (B.A.) – Marymount University

Marymount is the only Washington, DC-area university offering Fashion Design and Fashion Merchandising programs, and its graduates set the trend for young designers in the region. From sportswear to business and evening attire, Marymount’s young designers think outside the box – designing for a new age.

Marymount Fashion Design students are prepared to enter the industry to work for apparel manufacturers and for apparel retailers in the area of product development. The curriculum combines design thinking with expertise in textiles, quality standards, pattern making, illustration, and garment construction. MU students regularly compete in – and win – national and international design competitions.

The University’s annual Portfolio in Motion fashion show is a highlight of each academic year. Students interact and receive feedback from a renowned industry professional each year. This unique experience provides Marymount Fashion students with an unparalleled learning opportunity.
