Whether you hit a long drive or a hole in one, many people enjoy the leisure and recreation that comes with golf. And there’s few better days to play than on Golf Day on April 10. Get your putting arm ready this weekend at any one of these five local golf courses around the area.

Rated the top golf course in Southlake Style’s Readers’ Choice 2021, Timarron Country Club is one of the most cherished golf courses in Southlake for good reason. Designed by golf champion Byron Nelson himself, Timarron Country Club features 18 holes spread out over a double-sided driving range. With an additional short game area and supporting staff that helps you improve your game, you’ll have more than enough reasons to fall in love with the Timarron Country Club.

Dedicated to the Dallas Cowboys, the Cowboys Golf Club is the only NFL-themed golf club in the world. Built on 159 acres in Grapevine, the golf course is a big and sprawling space that allows for all kinds of golf games. With four sets of tees on its 18 holes, you can play how you want and use the course the way that fits you and your family best.

Built on the Sky Creek Ranch in Keller, the Sky Creek Ranch golf course was designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. in the late ’90s. Since then the 6,000-yard golf course has attracted thousands of families and was rated four stars by “Golf Digest.” With an assortment of tee times and junior camps available, you won’t run out of ways to enjoy the Sky Creek Ranch Golf Club.

Designed by golf legend Ben Hogan, the Trophy Club Country Club features not one but two world-class golf courses on its beautiful Bermuda landscape. Besides its two expansive courses, the club also has expanded chipping, putting and wedge practice areas, a single-level hitting deck and a GolfZon indoor simulator that helps you practice your swing. That doesn’t even include the club’s other exciting amenities such as a pool, tennis court and fitness center.

Offering a personalized experience specific to its guests, the Vaquero Golf Club in Westlake is an easy-to-walk par 71 course that makes golfing fun for players at any skill level. With two additional flyovers, an 8,000-square-foot putting and chipping green and a practice park including a nine-hole short course, younger golfers will have fun practicing at this venue and reaching their golfing potential one putt at a time.
