Food Network Gossip: 333 Restaurant – Restaurant Impossible Update

On this week’s episode of Restaurant: Impossible, Robert Irvine and his crew are in Granada, Mississippi to makeover 333 Restaurant. 333 Restaurant is owned by Allyson, who is a full-time art teacher. Despite being a teacher, she requires the restaurant’s manager to contact her before making every decision, no matter how small.  This means there is no clear leader in the restaurant and the restaurant is in danger of closing.  Since Allyson wants to continue to teach, Robert needs to get her to trust her staff in running the restaurant.

As I normally do with Restaurant: Impossible episodes, I searched around the Internet to read stories, comments and reviews about 333 Restaurant to get an idea of how the restaurant is doing since Robert Irvine visited, and here is what I found (note – all reviews are post Restaurant: Impossible):

Positive Reviews:

  • “The food was delicious, but one of my favorite things from before the remodel was the extensive menu. You could get anything. Kinda miss that. Portions are smaller, too. I had a hamburger streak with Brussels sprouts as my side. It was really good. Will continue going there!”
  • “Today we enjoyed our first Sunday buffet and it was…perfect. The selection of freshly prepared meats, vegetables, breads, salads and desserts seems endless for such a small space (there is an additional dining room and outdoor patio attached). It’s one of those lightning-in-a-bottle Southern joints where there seems to be no dividing line between the affable cooks, servers and local guests. How lovely, and how completely authentic.”
  • “The buffet looked awesome, but most of us settled on Philly cheesesteak and fries. The home fries are seasoned and are exceptional! The great atmosphere and reasonable prices definitely make it the place to go.”
  • “We couldn’t have been happier than dining at the 333 Restaurant close to Grenada Lake. The food was excellent and cocktails refreshing after enjoying a drive through the Scenic 333 Loop getting there. Ordered some beignets to go for coffee on the road for the next morning!”
  • “Much better than previous experiences. The food and the service was much better than the other times there. Would recommend the steak with the crab cake on top with crawfish sauce.”

Negative Reviews:

  • “We were very disappointed. A few years back the food was amazing. We went last night and the menu has been changed up to foods you wouldn’t recognize. I was terribly sick after eating here. I had the coffee filet which was definitely not a filet and my husband had what was called red beans and rice but again definitely wasn’t. The bathroom was nasty!! The only good thing I can say about the place was the strawberry cake is amazing. If your looking for a good desert this is the place otherwise you may want to try elsewhere”
