An exciting Wagyu-only pop-up restaurant is now open in North Texas. Called Wagyu Mania, the restaurant is popping up at Plano’s Mitsuwa Marketplace now through December 31. Diners can order dishes revolving around the premium marbled Japanese beef, like Wagyu sandwiches, burgers, sushi, and curry.
The Mitsuwa Marketplace pop-up is being co-organized by the Japanese External Trade Organization (JETRO). Diners will be able to buy Wagyu to take home as well. Waygu Mania will be open Friday to Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. until the end of the year within Mitsuwa Marketplace in Plano at 100 Legacy Drive.
A homey cafe called Staycation is now open in Richardson
A new restaurant helmed by The Joule Dallas hotel’s former food and beverage manager opened yesterday at 201 S. Texas St. CultureMap Dallas reports that Staycation will serve coffee drinks with beans from Tweed, along with freshly baked bagels, bread, and pastries. The plan is to eventually add sandwiches, and then beer and wine in the evening.
Beerhead Bar & Eatery opens in Plano
Community Impact tracks down the Plano opening of a restaurant chain devoted to craft beer. Located at 5805 Preston Road, Suite G594, Beerhead Bar & Eatery serves food like pizzas, sandwiches, brunch fare, and a “Barbarian Pretzel” accompanied by dips including dark ale beer mustard and New Belgium craft beer cheese. Expect to find 50 beers on tap and around 350 different bottles to choose from at Beerhead. The Plano location is the first Texas outpost for the Chicago-based company.
7-Eleven stores roll out new pizza
Now available in Dallas only — 7-Eleven stores are starting to serve the brand’s new Big Bite Pizza, which promises fluffier crust and the most “pepperoni 7-Eleven has ever fit on one slice.” The pies are also made fresh daily at participating stores.
