Lozano Golf Center

The Lozano Golf Center has an 18-Hole regulation course and 9-Hole Executive Course, with water on most holes and plenty of bunkers. Located just minutes from downtown Corpus Christi, it’s the perfect place to escape for some practice or a quick round before or after work. It was built in 1965 by Leon Howard and renovated in 1983 by Finger Dye Spann, Inc., the fairways have generous landing areas with a fully lighted practice facility.

Oso Beach Golf Course

Located south of downtown Corpus Christi, Oso Beach Golf Course was originally designed by John Bredemus, co-founder of the Texas PGA and the Texas Open in 1949. The Corpus Christi Golf Association promoted the facility with its “World Championship Four-Ball Match” featuring the golf dream team of Ben Hogan, Byron Nelson, Sam Snead, and Jimmy Demaret. Walk in the footsteps of legends on this Par 70, beautiful 6,223-yard player-friendly layout.

The course offers an 18-hole regulation course, fully stocked pro shop, practice putting and chipping greens, and a snack bar.

City to Start Planning for a New Bayside Area Development Plan

A modern development plan for the Bayside area is in the works. Council gave the approval to start crafting a long range, 20-year plan for the Bayside area that consists of 16.6 square miles and is bounded by Morgan Avenue on the north, South Padre Island Drive (SH 358) on the south, Ocean Drive/Oso Bay on the east, and the Crosstown Expressway (SH 286) on the west. The Bayside Area Development Plan study area includes well-known locations such as Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi, Oso Beach Municipal Golf Course, Sunrise and La Palmera Malls, Six Points, and the Port-Ayers commercial corridor. Community involvement will be key to this effort. Read the News Release for more about this project and how you can provide your input. (Released 9-24-2020)
