Hit the links at Orange Beach Golf Center

Is there anything more relaxing than a round of golf? For many vacationers, the answer is no. Spending hours on a golf course, whether in a competitive setting or a more casual atmosphere, is a favorite activity for lots of people, and these individuals often want to incorporate the pastime into their vacations. Golf fanatics who head to Orange Beach during their next trip don’t have to miss out on the sport.

About the course

Spend some time on a local golf course during your stay in Orange Beach. The nine-hole course at Orange Beach Golf Center originally opened in 2007. Designed by W.R. Bean, this Gulf Shores golf course is a par-three, making it suitable for experts looking to practice their game or novices who want to learn. Elements like ponds and fountains add a challenging aspect for those who have never visited the course before, while the more compact nature of the facility makes it well suited for golfers at a novice or intermediate level.

Carts are available for rent if you would like to get the full golfing experience, but walking through the course isn’t a bad alternative – if nothing else, you are exposed to some beautiful views of the surroundings. The links were designed with the natural beauty of Orange Beach, Ala., in mind, so the opportunity to gaze out over lush greens, perfectly manicured gardens, fountains and split-rail fences that fill the area is great for any visitor who wants to admire the scenery along the Gulf Coast.

Hone your swing

The golf course itself may be the main attraction, but there are some other areas of the facility that can serve travelers. Orange Beach Golf Center also boasts a driving range and pro shop that avid golfers will enjoy. With 42 tees on the driving range open to the public and plenty of buckets of golf balls waiting to be rented, you can spend hours practicing your swing and working on your drives. The covered mat tees are a big help to golfers who are dedicated to their craft, as they block the sun from your space, allowing you to save the tanning for the beach.

Great for beginners

Golf fanatics may have their hearts set on visiting a local course prior to their stay at Orange Beach condo rentals, but those who are new to the sport can still take part in the fun during their trips. The course is well-maintained and only has nine holes, making it ideal for novices who are in the early stages of learning the game. During the summer, the facility hosts youth golf lessons, so you can get your kids in on the fun as well. These sessions teach the etiquette of the game, as well as basics like putting, chipping and driving. You’ll have to call ahead to try to snag some space for your little ones in this informative class.

Orange Beach Golf Center is open seven days a week. The lighted driving range operates from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., while the course itself operates during daylight hours only.
