Ferah Tex-Med Kitchen® is the product of a lifelong dream and nearly two decades of experience in gourmet kitchens and upscale hotels around the world. Owner and Chef, Burak Ozcan, started his culinary career in some of the most luxurious resorts across the Mediterranean coast. Once he moved to Dallas and experienced Texas cuisine, Chef Burak created the innovative “Tex-Med” concept in 2016. He then tested his unique fusion cuisine in full-service hotels across the DFW Metroplex. Tex-Med: Modern Mediterranean with a Texan Twist®, was a huge hit and inspired Chef Burak, and his wife Stephanie, to open their first restaurant location in June 2019. The Ozcans were thrilled to open the second Ferah location at Southlake Town Square along the Berlin family on July 8th.
The Ozcan and Berlin families have known each other for many years. Burak and Jeremy Berlin met back in 2011 when Burak joined DFW Marriott South. They were an award-winning team while working together in esteemed hotels across the metroplex. Jeremy has over 20 years’ experience in hotel management and has been a part of Ferah since the very beginning. Jeremy is leading the team at the Southlake location as owner and general manager. Burak continues his leadership of the Firewheel location.
With its expansion, Ferah continues to be locally owned, and family owned. Jeremy and his family live near Southlake and Chef Burak and family live near Firewheel. Jeremy’s wife, Heidi, joins the team as Community Relations Director. Chef Burak’s wife, Stephanie, continues to manage marketing and the interior design/ambiance of the restaurants.
