Hoots Wings, a Hooters spin-off chain, opens 1st N.J. restaurant

Hoots Wings has opened its first location in New Jersey.

The fast-casual chicken wing concept, which is a spin-off of Hooters, opened last month in Jersey City. It is located at 525 Washington Blvd., on the ground floor of Newport Tower.

This is the first of six northeast-region locations Hoots Wings has planned over the next two years.

Three more are coming to New Jersey — in Atlantic City, Newark and Hoboken — but opening dates have not been announced. The other two spots will be in King of Prussia, Pa., and Providence, R.I.

“Hooters put wings on the map — it has a 35-plus year history of the best wings on the planet,” franchise owner Phillip Moran said. “We’re staying true to our goal of bringing the best easting experience to the people of New Jersey with the opening of this first Hoots Wings store.”

Hoots offers five types of wings (breaded, smoked, naked, boneless or roasted) and 14 options of sauces and dry rubs ranging in heat.

The wing joint’s menu also includes shrimp, chicken sandwiches, salads and sides such as waffle fries, tots, mac and cheese, and mozzarella sticks.

There is indoor seating (outdoor dining will be available in the future, the company said), as well as delivery and carryout options.

Hoots Wings has 12 locations throughout Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Texas and now New Jersey.
