Kyu – Miami – a MICHELIN Guide Restaurant

Pronounced “Q” and located in Wynwood, this is a happy marriage between Asian flavors and wood-fired grilling. The dining room rocks a moody vibe with dim lighting; sleek, hard surfaces (think cement floors and concrete walls); as well as a rock-meets-rap playlist. Over in the kitchen, the team produces a litany of enticing dishes that include neatly done pork- and shiitake-gyoza served in a pool of black truffle ponzu. Pork ribs, smoked and crisped, are then lacquered with a judiciously sweet glaze before being dressed with slivers of ginger root and Thai chili. Save room for that tall wedge of coconut cake.
Interesting cocktails, like the Wynwood mule sweetened with slow-smoked pineapple, are supplemented by alcohol-free creations.
