Maderas Golf Club Named Golf Digest’s Top 100 Public Courses in the U.S. – CALIFORNIA LIFE HD

There’s only six golf courses in California that make Golf Digest’s list of Top 100 Courses in the United States. Audra Stafford takes us to one of the state’s top-rated public courses: Maderas Golf Club.

Tucked away in the rolling hills of North San Diego County, Maderas Golf Club offers amazing views from the First Tee to the 18th Green.

“Maderas is actually Spanish for ‘woods,’” says general manager Bill O’Brien, “As you can see, there are amazing vistas that really capture the natural habitat in the surrounding area.”

The course includes a lot of twists, turns, and steep slopes. One of the course’s best features is that every hole is a little bit different, and it never gets boring.

Golf Digest is the biggest golf publication in the world, and to be listed was a huge honor for Maderas. “It was like winning the Academy Award for Best Picture!” exclaimed O’Brien.

Besides the beautiful ambience, there are a number of factors as to why Maderas made it on this very prestigious list. Golf Digest looked at its conditions, service, amenities, and the grill. Their chef Brandan Mickey is known for his exceptional food, all inspired by Southern California and “all things local.”

Maderas is a great golf course for beginners, intermediates, and elite players. With local and national award-winning instructors, Maderas has a golf academy for playing schools and short game schools, as well as on-course lessons and private lessons. Home to the U.S.A. Junior National Team, it’s a course for golfers of all ages and skill levels.

Available seven days a week, Maderas hosts a number of different tournaments each year. Because it’s a public course, anyone is welcome to play. You might want to grab your clubs and get swinging!
