Manager pistol-whipped, tied up in Restaurant Depot robbery in Jacksonville

A Restaurant Depot manager was pistol-whipped and later tied up in a robbery at the eatery supply wholesaler’s Jacksonville location.

Sometime around 6 a.m., the manager arrived to the store at 3389 Powers Ave. and was going inside to open up when two individuals approached him with guns, Sgt. Steve Amos said.

Amos said the robbers used a gun to beat the man into submission and forced him inside where he led them to a cash box.

They then tied the manager up and fled in an unidentified vehicle, the sergeant said, with a yet undetermined amount of cash.
