Fall Golf in Massachusetts is a Special Treat
Long ago, the PGA Tour never made its way up to Northeast, but in recent years the TPC Boston in Norton has been home to the Deutsche Bank Championship at the end of each summer. With the tour’s arrival has come the acknowledgment of what a jewel the Arnold Palmer-design TPC Boston truly is. But fear not, if you can’t wiggle your way onto that track, Massachusetts offers plenty of publicly-accessible courses from the rolling coast of the seashore to the rolling hills of Western Mass. Tucked away on the south shore of Boston, for instance, is Scituate’s Widow’s Walk Golf Course aligned majestically with a river and a nine-iron from the Atlantic. Greens fees become more reasonable in the Fall months and that’s perfect golf weather – as long as you can stay out of the fallen leaves.

Fall ball in New England runs through Thanksgiving more often than not. Further out in the central part of the state is the Heritage Country Club in Charlton – where early bird specials are a secret bargain, well worth the early wake-up call. Interestingly, and in the interest of gender equity, we’re happy to inform you that the Women’s Golf Association of Massachusetts is the oldest in the country and has been running for more than 100 years.
