New York City Kosher Romanian Restaurants

New York City offers just about everything you could hope for, including restaurants showcasing food from around the world, giving visitors a new cultural experience or a taste of home. While NYC does have a number of Romanian restaurants, most are concentrated in Astoria in Queens, New York, Sunnyside, New York and the Lower East side of Manhattan.

Mendy’s Kosher Deli & Restaurant

With seven locations throughout Manhattan and Brooklyn, Mendy’s offers a kosher menu that, while not specifically Romanian, is saturated with Romanian food, including Romanian pastrami and broiled Romanian tenderloin steak. You can eat in at the restaurants, or place a takeout order over the phone or online. Mendy’s also caters events, or the event can be held in a party room at a Mendy’s restaurant. Party rooms can hold anywhere from 20 to 200 people, depending on the location. They’re best known for their split pea soup, made famous by “Seinfeld”.
