Online Acting Classes – The Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute

About Our Online Acting Classes

Our Online Acting offerings are short-term classes designed to help those 18 and over looking to start their Method journey or continue their Method journey. As the only acting school in the world that teaches Lee Strasberg’s work in its consummate form, The Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute® is the home for all actors seeking to delve into Method Acting.

Unlike digital learning platforms which only provide one-way teaching, this program is entirely interactive, optimized for our students’ growth. All classes, workshops, lectures, and events offered as part of this unique training series are held LIVE!

Can online classes be accessed from my mobile phone?

Yes! The Zoom mobile app is available for Android and iOS.

Are the teachers able to interact with or give adjustments to the students?

Yes! Unlike other online platforms, Zoom allows for two-way interaction. Teachers are able to observe students during online classes and provide adjustments in real time.

What is the difference between Method 101 and taking an Intensive or full term program online?

Our New York and Los Angeles campuses are currently offering their usual courses online in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Method 101 will remain available to new students online regardless of classes happening in person!

Intensives and full terms offer a range of classes including Improv, Movement, and Character Work. Our Method 101 course is dedicated solely to learning the foundations of Lee Strasberg’s Method Acting technique.

Will online acting classes continue after COVID-19?

Yes! Our Online Acting platform will continue offering classes to allow alumni to stay connected to The Method and for new students to join us from wherever they are.

Are there benefits to taking classes online instead of in person?

While nothing can replace the experience of taking classes in person, online acting programs do  offer certain advantages. Online classes allow you to establish a consistent practice at home. With a unique ability to control the environment in which they take class, students also report that online learning can offer fewer distractions. Most importantly, online classes allow students the flexibility to study with us from anywhere in the world, without the need to relocate to New York or Los Angeles.

Can I divide my Method 101 classes between the morning and evening sessions?

No. Your enrollment is valid for only 1 time slot – morning or evening. You must attend all of your Method 101 classes during the enrolled time slot.

Do I have to take Method 101 before enrolling in a longer program?

No. Completion of Method 101 is not required for Admission into a regular Institute program. However, Method 101 will provide a great foundation for you to dive into your training from day 1!

Completion of Method 101 (or another Institute program) is required in order to enroll in Method in Focus.
