Powerful mowing with long lasting batteries
I’ve had about a month and replaced a self-propelled 21″ gas mower. I’m amazed how fast and quietly I can mow my yard. I love it. It makes mowing fun again instead of a dreaded chore. I would highly recommend to anyone. Batteries recharge in 90 minutes or less so far!

It’s Legit!
I researched the heck out of this lawnmower and am really glad I did! So much so, that I actually went through with buying one! I have no complaints with this rider. I saw some reviews with people complaining about how heavy the batteries are because you have to lift them out of the rider to charge them, c’mon on now. I tried plugging in all 6 batteries at one location at the same time and it tripped the breaker, so just plan ahead for that. Charging the batteries is very fast! There is barely any noise when cutting.. so long ear plugs! I haven’t tried towing anything yet so no comment there. The size of the rider was important to me and I wasn’t sure how I would fit on this machine. I’m a big guy (6ft, 280 lbs) and I sit very comfortably on this rider. Also, I read some reviews saying the description wasn’t accurate about cutting 2 acres? So here’s the thing, it depends if you have had the batteries on the charger before cutting or not. I feel like I shouldn’t have to say that but to some, it might not be so obvious. We own 2 properties and I started with 86% and by the time I was done, it was at 58%. That was all done by not charging the batteries before I started to give you an idea. Overall, I am satisfied with my purchase and can’t wait to use it again!

Excellent value and performance
I was skeptical about going electric, but I’ve been very satisfied with this mower. I have about 4 acres of mowing and I can usually get most of it done on 1 charge. The charging is super fast and the blades cut my fields and grass without issue. It’s also fun to drive and I love how quiet it is. I have many hills and the electric motor is great at preventing spin outs or getting stuck. Just be careful of using cruise control on hills since it can really speed up fast after turning down hill.

My easy mower
I do love my Greenworks riding mower! I have had it for 3 months now and use it every week. Starts every time and have had the gearbox oil changed 1 time so far! Easy to mow with this mower! I have all Greenworks equipment now, snowblower and powerwasher plus a push mower! I have used the powerwasher 1 time and love it too, have not used snowblower yet but will get to use that too soon. The push mower is easy peasy too! Love Greenworks. One thing I have a question about is in the manual it say’s something about a battery filter needs to be changed, but can’t seem to locate one on the website to get to replace it! Anyone know anything about this? Also is there something underneath that you should not spray the grass clippings out? The wash port doesn’t really get the stuck on grass out! Especially when you mow when the grass is still not too dry!

This is really quite a remarkable machine
it took me a little while to get used to the weight balance – it’s center-heavy and my old gas machine was front heavy. I mow what is euphemistically called a lawn but is really some grass scattered throughout shrubby woods on a fairly steep slope. We changed out the rear tires for heavy duty ones after I experienced slippage with the originals. The machine is quiet, not at all dusty (my gas rider kicked up a LOT of dust), and fast. I can do all my trails, yards, orchard, etc., in 1.5 hours compared to two plus hours with my old machine. Each mowing uses only about 15% of the battery storage. I’ve charged it up once (after initial charge) and have used it 5 or 6 times. That’s amazing to me. The cutting blades are quiet and seem to work quite well. Back-and-forthing takes some getting used to. Overall, I am quite impressed and pleased with my purchase.

Impressive riding mower
1st electric riding mower I’ve own. Has much more power compares to my 21hp gas mower. Get’s the job done using 2/3 the time mowing with the gas.

Forget Lead-Acid, and go with Lithium!
I’ve relied on a push mower for well over a decade. I now have ~1/2 acre to mow, with a lot of obstacles and hills, and I finally got fed up with the time (and energy) it was taking me to mow, so I decided to bite the bullet and shop for a lawn tractor. I was really interested in going electric, but I found out pretty quickly that my options were pretty limited.
Most of the existing fleet out there relies on lead-acid batteries, which have a very questionable shelf life and are very expensive to replace, plus they are 100% manufactured in China so they are constantly on back-order. There are some competitors that are starting to roll out Lithium-powered riders, but every one that I’ve see is zero-turn; with a yard as hilly as mine, I knew I needed a lawn tractor as opposed to a zero-turn. I had a buddy suggest looking at the Greenworks CrossoverT, so I did some research and gave it a test drive at my local Tractor Supply Company. I was thoroughly impressed by the Greenworks tractor! Solid build quality (felt/looked more substantial compared to others I had tested), comfortable and easy to drive, and very responsive. Just so much to like about it. Did I mention it’s Lithium powered, as opposed to lead-acid??
I ordered directly from Greenworks, mainly because they have a distribution center locally, and I received the mower in less than a week. I’ve mowed with it twice now, and I have cut my typical mowing time down by almost 60%! For the size of my lot, I only use ~20% of the batteries, so there is a ton of juice left over. I’m incredibly pleased with my purchase, and while I was already impressed, what really caught me by surprise with this mower is the power! It handles hills, slopes, and tall grass with ease, and the ride up and down hills is incredibly smooth, which I did not expect.
There’s only one negative that I’ve noted so far. While the mowing in reverse feature is useful to me, it is also very cumbersome. I understand that this process is ultimately a safety feature, but I’m still getting the hang of mowing in reverse (i.e., holding down the mow in reverse button).
If you are considering this mower, you just can’t go wrong. Just an all-around solid experience so far!
