After making your way in and out of the more than 130 shops inside the Perimeter Mall in Atlanta, you can refuel and recharge your energy with a hearty meal. While the mall has more than six sit-down restaurants, the surrounding area also includes a host of diverse eateries, many of which are within walking distance.
In the Mall
Located right in front of the mall, Goldfish (h2sr.com/goldfish) has an upscale setting, complete with u-shaped leather booths, white tablecloths, mural-covered walls and outdoor patio dining. The seafood restaurant serves such offerings as pan-roasted trout, barbecue salmon and sushi. The bar provides discounted martinis daily and half-priced bottles of beer on select evenings.
Seasons 52 (seasons52.com) is in the mall parking lot. The relaxed ambiance includes wood-beamed ceilings, modern light fixtures, oversized booths and patio seating. The restaurant provides more than 100 different varieties of wine, 60 of which you may order by the glass. Hearty menu selections include wood-roasted pork tenderloin, oak-grilled filet mignon and jumbo shrimp with penne pasta.
Less than a five-minute walk from the mall, McKendrick’s Steak House (mckendricks.com) is a high-end restaurant, serving such dishes as veal chops, lobster tails and porterhouse steak. The bar provides wine selections from California, France, Italy and Chile. The art deco-inspired interior includes hardwood floors, dark wood accents, chocolate brown leather chairs and white tablecloths topped with silver tea light lamps.
Sage Perimeter (sagewoodfiretavern.com/perimeter_index.html) is less than a five-minute walk from Perimeter Mall. The restaurant includes weekday happy hours and disc jockeys and dancing on the weekends. The menu includes meats and poultry grilled over hickory-oak firewood, including Angus beef burgers, goat cheese-stuffed chicken and baby back ribs. The wine list includes approximately 45 selections.
Tex-Mex and Tapas
Less than five minutes on foot from the mall, Twisted Taco (twistedtaco.com) is dubbed as a “cross between an old West saloon and a sports bar.” The numerous televisions scattered throughout the restaurant showcase collegiate and professional sports teams. The full bar includes 50 tequilas, 40 beers and 16 signature margaritas. Menu samplings include tacos, fajitas, Buffalo wings and salads.
Eclipse Di Luna (eclipsediluna.com) is less than five minutes on foot from Perimeter Mall. The restaurant’s live entertainment includes salsa, flamenco guitar and Brazilian music. Spanish tapas on hand include fried calamari, paella and chorizo with dates, bacon and bleu cheese. The restaurant also offers gluten-free dishes. Wine is available by the glass or bottle.
A three-minute walk to the mall, Cafe Intermezzo (cafeintermezzo.com) is modeled after a 19th century Viennese cafe. The restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating, tiled floors, towering ceilings and fresh flowers on white tablecloths. Display cases highlight the cafe’s more than 100 different cakes, tortes, pies and tarts. Savory items include crepes, soups, salads and sandwiches.
La Grotta (lagrottaatlanta.com/perimeter.htm) is a six-minute walk from Perimeter Mall. The upscale Italian restaurant includes earth tone-colored walls, floral upholstered chairs, recessed lighting and outdoor garden seating. Open for dinner only, the restaurant’s menu showcases approximately 70 wines and Italian specialties such as veal ravioli, spaghetti Bolognese and penne with sweet Italian sausage.
