Rookwood Pottery Food & Beverage Co. in Mount Adams opens in historic building
There is once again a restaurant in an iconic Mount Adams building.
Rookwood Pottery Food & Beverage Co. started serving guests Tuesday in the building that once housed the kilns for Rookwood Pottery on Celestial Street.
The Tudor-style building was home to a restaurant named The Rookwood, which closed in 2016. Built in 1892, the building still holds the kilns that once fired Rookwood's pottery.
Rookwood Pottery Food & Beverage Co. is owned by Bret and Brian Michaud and will offer an American-style menu.
The restaurant's menu includes a variety of breakfast options, pizza, burgers, hoagie and sandwiches and steak, chops and dinners. All food is made on-site, including desserts, breakfasts and daily specials, according to Rookwood's Facebook page.
In addition, Rookwood plans to have a full-service bar, coffee bar and small bakery featuring desserts and pastries.
The Michaud brothers previously owned the now-closed Teak Thai Cuisine Bar in Mount Adams. Teak has since reopened under new ownership in Over-the-Rhine.
