Scott Disick’s New NYC Japanese Restaurant RYU: All the Details

He’s traveled the world keeping up with Kourtney Kardashian and her family, wining and dining at some of the best and buzziest restaurants, and now Scott Disick has decided to throw his hat into the restaurant ring with the opening of his Japanese eatery, RYU.

Located in New York City’s trendy Meatpacking District, the just-opened venue — launched with the help of NYC restaurateurs Chris Reda (formerly of The Griffin) and Fatty Crab’s Jesse Carmac — features dishes all under $30.

Calling his foray into the restaurant biz “way more difficult than I realized,” Disick, 28, tells Us Weekly he investigated NYC neighborhoods for months before settling on RYU’s location.

“I have always wanted to open my own place…and [the Meatpacking District] seemed like the hottest place to be right now,” Disick explained at his opening party April 23. “There didn’t seem to be any Japanese restaurants in the area so I wanted to fill that spot.”

Having a hand in everything from venue construction to menu design, Disick says diners will come to love two special RYU dishes: the spicy tuna and shrimp chips.

And as Disick prepares to become a second-time father when girlfriend Kourtney Kardashian gives birth to their daughter later this year, the restaurateur says he isn’t done expanding his business empire just yet.

Says Disick: “I can see opening up an L.A. restaurant in about six to eight months.”
