Shady Rest DiscGolfPark® | Mammoth Lakes, CA – Official Website

Designed by Avery Jenkins (2009 Professional Disc Golf World Champion), this pro-level, wooded 18-hole disc golf course aligns perfectly with Mammoth Lakes’ vision to be the “best alpine recreation community in the country”, and offers a new exciting, fun and growing form of recreation in the region.

“The Shady Rest DiscGolfPark® within Shady Rest Park is located in the beautiful Inyo National Forest surrounding the entire Mammoth Lakes valley. This is the first DiscGolfPark® and one of the few disc golf courses located within a US National Forest. It’s also the fourth DiscGolfPark® in California and the 18th DiscGolfPark® in the United States.” Avery Jenkins, World Champion and DiscGolfPark® Course Designer.

In an October 6, 2020 blog feature, UDisc characterized the course as extraordinary, and a “mammoth achievement,” with over 150 players rating it a 4.5 out of five. More information about the Shady Rest DiscGolfPark® is available here

Course Details

Installed in 2019, the 18-hole course is designed for both intermediate and experienced disc golfers. Recommended group size is 3-5 to ensure speed of play. It takes about 2 hours to play the entire course.  We also ask that you leave no trace, by taking out all trash and depositing it in the trash bins provided at Shady Rest Park.

Short and long basket positions were installed in 2020 offering greater options for players of all ages and abilities. With fundraising support from the Mammoth Lakes Disc Golf Club, the Town is planning to install short recreational tee pads in 2021, further broadening the playability of the course.
