Designed by George Cobb and Tom Jackson in 1967. Recent renovations to the main 18-hole course have many raving. Bunkers have been rebuilt, reshaped and replaced with brilliant white G-angle sand. Native ornamental grasses were also planted in strategic areas which have raised the aesthetic appeal. The course plays to a par of 71. At just under 6,500 yards from the tips, the course is not long by today’s standards. The pines, palms and palmetto trees that line the fairways along with some overhanging moss place a premium on driving accuracy. There is a considerable contrast in length between the two nines, with the longer back including a pair of fairly long par 5s, the second of which is part of a stout trio of finishing holes that includes the longest par 5, par 3 and par 4 on the course. The water-lined 18th is a terrific finishing hole.
The 9-hole West course is a shorter layout that plays to a par of 34 (four par 3’s). This first-rate traditional coastal design is a challenging “Executive” course. Water comes in into play on seven of the nine holes which adds another element for accurate shots.
Sea Palms golf amenities also include private lessons, practice putting green, short game practice areas and a driving range. Our golf staff can help plan tournament formats, pairings, scoring and cart staging. Rental clubs are also available.

Jones calls the new Plantation “parkland by the sea” for its magnificent vistas of the Atlantic Ocean and its lush natural scenery. Rees added, “I took the work of Walter Travis (who designed Plantation in 1926) and Dick Wilson (who fashioned Retreat in 1960) and produced a classic style course with a similar flavor.”

When Davis Love III and his brother, Mark, began renovating the Retreat Course in October 2000, they knew they had a difficult task. Blending the players’ preferences from the previous design, the brothers created an original design that is dramatic. The green complexes are a combination of slope, sand bunkers, and undulations creating a masterful test, challenging the golfer to hit a variety of shots.
The Retreat course features 6,490 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72 . The course rating is 71.8 and it has a slope rating of 133 on Bermuda grass.

Established in 1920, Brunswick Country Club has been a part of the Golden Isles for nearly a century. This private club has shared an association with many recognizable names in the game of golf, such as Andy Bean, Steve Melnyk and Davis Love III. Brunswick Country Club plays host to the Golden Isles Invitational Tournament each year and has done so since the inaugural event in 1949. The Golden Isles Invitational has broad appeal and attracts players from across the eastern United States.
In November 2007, the course reopened after Love Golf Design’s completion of a twelve month restoration project which returned the golf course to its original 1938 Donald Ross design. The new clubhouse opened in June 2009. Amenities include a fully stocked golf shop, large dining room, locker rooms, a bar and grill, swimming pool and fitness room.
Brunswick Country Club is fortunate to have the opportunity to host to several PGA Tour sponsored events. In September, the Club is one of six national host sites for the Web.com Pre-Qualifying Tournament for Stage One Q-School. The Club also hosts the Pre-Qualifier and the Monday Qualifier for the PGA Tour’s McGladrey Classic.

Lee named this course Indian Mound, after the large oyster shell middens deposited by aboriginal tribes hundreds of years ago.
