Star Wars Land Food and Drinks – Oga’s Cantinadj rex star wars galaxys edgedj rex star wars galaxys edge

We were able to make reservations for Oga’s Cantina online prior to our visit so we made two reservations during our vacation. One we did midday around noon and the other for 10pm.

The check in process for Oga’s Cantina is fairly simple but you may be waiting in a line waiting for your spot even if you show up at your reservation time. If your reservation is during the day, expect to be waiting in the sun although Disney has tried to put up umbrella stands to create some shade.

Once you find Oga’s Cantina, not far from the Falcon, you will join the line outside the entrance. Once you’re in line a cast member will come and ask your name on the reservation and begin the check in process.

Each party member of your group will be given cards to give to the cast member at the entrance when it’s time to enter.

There are also Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Oga’s Cantina menus at this stand to look over but you will have a chance to take your time to look over the menus once you enter too.

The cast member may ask if you want to wait for a booth. We were asked this on our second reservation and because we didn’t feel like waiting, we declined. But if a booth is important for your group, be advised that there are not many and you may want to show up early to wait for one.

We were lucky on our two visits to Oga’s Cantina because both times we were seated within easy view of DJ Rex. The first reservation we were at a standing room table that all six of us comfortably fit around directly in front of the DJ booth. For the second reservation we were seated at the bar which was a bit challenging in terms of standing room and room for the two kids in our group. But the experience at the bar was notably cool because we got to interact more with the Oga bartenders whom were all fantasticly in character.

Between both of our visits in our group of six people, we tried most of the options on the menu! My favorite was the Fuzzy Tauntaun and my son loved the Blue Bantha.

Best Drinks and Food and Oga’s Cantina in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge

Here are all the pictures of our delicious assortment of beverages.

Hands down, nearly everyone in our group said the Fuzzy Tauntaun was their favorite. It was my favorite because of the taste- it reminded me of a fruity cocktail which are my go to drinks. Everyone else liked it because of the foam that made your lips and tongue numb and tingle which was one of the most unique properties of the drinks offered.

My son tried both the Blue Bantha and the Hyperdrive from the non-alcoholic drinks. I loved the Blue Bantha (cold blue milk!) and would definitely order that again. He loved the Hyperdrive but they were quite small- he was easily able to down two of them in less than 30 minutes. The Blue Bantha is a good choice to keep kids entertained with the cookies that come on top so they have more time to enjoy it.

The only drink that got a grimace from our group was the Slug Slinger. Because of the mixture of tequila, ginger, and bitters I have a feeling that one might be for those that really enjoy tequila. Or are looking for something with a kick in their Disneyland day. In fact, all of the drinks were plenty strong so I felt the price ($15-$18 per drink) was worth it. The Yub Nub was definitely stronger than the Fuzzy Tauntaun- I wasn’t even able to finish both of them in the 45 minutes we were allowed in because of that. But I also don’t drink too often.

The 45 minute time limit was really no big deal. By the time it was close for our 45 minutes to be up, we were ready to move on to enjoy other things in the area. It felt like the perfect amount of time. Our servers were really attentive and we had no issues ordering our second round of drinks. The best service we definitely got was at the bar- she even offered to take our picture.

Here’s some videos of our experience to get an idea of what the atmosphere is like:

If you’re lucky enough to hear this famous little song, be prepared to watch the Cantina explode with excitement!

The noise level is definitely high in Oga’s Cantina and for smaller children that don’t like loud noises this can be a problem. Because of this, it may be wise to make your reservation earlier in the day if you have kids in your group so they’re not trying to deal with it at the end of the day when they’re already tired. One of the kiddos in our group was pretty exhausted by the end of the day and the noise bothered him at first when we entered for the second reservation.

Overall, I would recommend Oga’s Cantina for all age groups. It is definitely kid friendly and my nine year old son had a great time. If you can, try to request a spot near DJ Rex if you don’t get one on the first try. I felt our experience was that much better because each time we were in easy view of him.

Best Food in Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge – Docking Bay 7 Food and CargoDocking Bay 7 Food and Cargo in Star Wars: Galaxy's EdgeDocking Bay 7 Food and Cargo in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge

The main quick service restaurant serving food in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo. The theme of this restaurant is similar to that of a ‘farm fresh’ and ‘food truck style’- in a galaxy far, far away. There are many unusual dishes offered by Chef Strono “Cookie” Tuggs (the character running this attraction) that are inspired by his time working for Maz Kanata (we first meet her in Star Wars: A Force Awakens) in her castle on Takodana.

You can view the menu outside before you enter. This location also offers mobile ordering which is a great option for busier times of the day.

I was a bit apprehensive of eating here because I am a vegetarian and there really was only one option on the lunch menu for me to try. The others in my group are all carnivores though so we enjoyed a wide selection of dishes.

Here are the photos from everything we tried at this restaurant.

Everyone enjoyed their food and we were impressed by the commitment to serve unique dishes to fit with the immersion of the land.

As for the vegetarian option I ordered, the Felucian Garden Spread, the hummus it came with was delicious. It’s always exciting to see meatless options in the parks as it’s not something you come across often. Usually most restaurants just offer you a stack of vegetables- not tofu! It’s awesome that they offer a vegetarian option that’s a bit more out of the norm than a plain salad or veggie tower. As for the picky eater in my group, my son said the mac and cheese wasn’t as good as the other kids meal mac and cheese offered in other areas of the park. I tried some and I would agree, it definitely isn’t as cheesy. Still good enough to eat but nothing to get excited about.

Overall, if your group is full of adventurous eaters- I think you will enjoy Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo. It was a challenge for my son since he’s an extremely picky eater. If you have kids that are picky eaters, just know that you can order the sides of mac and cheese separately and they give you large portions. This worked well to hold my son over while we were in the land.

Ronto Roasters – Quick Service Food in Star Wars Landstar wars land rontos roasters 2020star wars land rontos roasters 2020

Star Wars Land Green and Blue Milk Stand Reviewfood3food3

The much anticipated blue and green milk has been hit or miss with some folks among the list of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge food options . I was apprehensive to try the green milk after hearing how sweet it was so I opted for the blue milk instead for my first experience with this Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge food.

My son and I both enjoyed the Blue Milk and he could have easily drank it all day. I was fine just sharing one with him, they were fairly filling. The blue milk tastes like a lightly flavored blueberry drink- it was delicious.

These drinks are vegan too, they are not made from real milk and are plant based. To be honest, I enjoyed the blue milk in the Blue Bantha drink over at Oga’s Cantina much more- perhaps it was the atmosphere or the texture, but those were much better in my opinion! Who knows.. maybe it was because it came with cookies. Either way, you can’t pass up the iconic Blue Milk as one of the must try options for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge food.

Kat Saka’s Kettle Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Dessert

We all tried a bit of the Star Wars popcorn as a member of our group bought some in the souvenir popcorn bucket! I liked it, I didn’t find it as different as I had heard from people that found it spicy or flavored. We all thought it was good. Traditional Disney lovers will appreciate that you can find popcorn among the list of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge food options.

And of course, we all had to get the cool limited edition Coca-Cola bottles with the labels written in Aurebesh- the Star Wars language you see used throughout Galaxy’s Edge.

The soda bottles are referred to as thermal detonators by the Cast Members in the land. My son got a kick out of that when we were taking our pictures in front of the Falcon and the cast member kept repeatedly telling him to be ‘careful with that thermal detonator!’ The immersion was great with all the cast members we encountered.

Overall, all the Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge food items we enjoyed in the land were tasty and themed appropriately for the setting. Ronto Roasters seems to be hands down the best food items to get in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge according to anyone you ask. The vegans will appreciate the plant based Blue and Green Milk at the Milk Stand and the Felucian Garden Spread at Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo. And everyone will love Oga’s Cantina- it’s the place to be in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Don’t miss it!
