At about 2 a.m. this morning, June 13, a fire broke out at the factory of Scavi Hue Company located in Phong Dien Industrial Park, Phong Dien District, Thua Thien-Hue Province.

Mr. Nguyen Dinh Bach – Chairman of Phong Dien District People’s Committee said that the fire occurred at factory No. 2 of Sacvi Hue Company, creating a large column of smoke, covering an entire area. Receiving the news, the Fire Prevention and Fighting Police Department and Thua Thien-Hue Provincial Police Department mobilized many fire engines and dozens of officers and soldiers to the scene to urgently control the fire and prevent the fire from spreading.

By about 8:00 a.m. the same day, the fire had been brought under control. Currently, functional forces are still carrying out cooling work, conducting an inventory of damage as well as investigating the cause of the fire.

It is known that Scavi Hue is a subsidiary of Financière B’Lao Group (France), an FDI enterprise specializing in textiles, underwear, swimwear, sportswear, and protective gear in Vietnam. Up to this point, the enterprise has 3 factories operating continuously in Phong Dien industrial park (Thua Thien-Hue province), creating jobs for 5,000 workers.
