My visit was on the 3 day Classic stay & play package. The course is definitely a must see. However, make sure to bring plenty of inventory in case your swing or yardage are a bit off.
The Classic is one of the ultimate in target golf courses but scoreable if your swing is on. Water is in play on most holes. Forced carry isn't a large issue off the tee unless trying to cut corners but you will need good carry on many approaches. The greens are extremely challenging with slope and plateau issues. You can have a 4 footer downhill, barely stroke it, and wind up with a 15+ footer coming back. Happens often unless you start from below the cup.
Layout is excellent as is the scenery. My biggest disappointments were the practice green (completely worthless …if you see it you'll understand why), pace of play and pricing. 4 1/2 to 5 hours gets a bit much even though I know the challenging the layout directly leads to this. Guest service in the Pro Shop, cart staging, and starter were top level.
Put this track on your list for at least one visit, then consider less pricey options in the area if your in for multi round or slightly less costly days.
