Alkaline Snacks: The Ultimate List Of Quick Bites

I just wanted to share with you first hand about how I understand living the alkaline way with my list of my favourite alkaline snacks. My ever-growing understanding comes from years of personal mastery with implementing this lifestyle as well as reading and studying from lots of people who have been experts in the research of this topic such as Dr. Robert O Young from the pH Miracle, Ross Bridgeford from Live Energized, and Tony Robbins through his Living Health System program.

If you’re here, chances are you already know the benefits of living alkaline and that’s to have more energy and vitality, reduce inflammation, lose weight, and simply feel absolutely great!

I can tell you that following an alkaline diet has helped me manage my anxiety and reduce feeling overwhelmed, feel happier, feel fitter, have more energy, sleep better, and have an outstanding immune system.

One of the ways that may take you off course with following an alkaline approach could be snacking on foods that reduce your energy.

Foods very high in sugar, trans fats, refined carbohydrates, and nutrient-poor processed food  may cause you to feel even worse in terms of vitality and well-being due to their lack of water content, nutrients, and addition of potentially harmful ingredients such as refined oils, trans fats, high-fructose corn syrup, refined sugar, additives, BPA that is found in plastic containers, artificial colors, and flavorings, and artificial sweeteners just to name a few.

So what could one eat to have total energy and vitality the alkaline way?

Below are 8 of my personal recommendations for the best alkaline snacks to achieve total health and energy.

Green juice

A green juice especially one made without fruit or with low sugar fruits such as lemons and limes is an energy kick like no other, making it a perfect alkaline snack. Green juice provides for you surplus of vitamins and minerals hitting your bloodstream instantly to elevate your energy and lift your mood.  You could make a quick green juice at home using your high-speed blender followed by straining the pulp using a cheesecloth or if you had a cold press juicer it would be even better. What I do on days in the office is I go to any of the many health cafes near me and order a freshly made to order juice.  At the healthybody headquarters, we will always have a cold press juicer available for staff and guests to enjoy a juice at any time.

My current favorite green juice combo: Cucumber, celery, spinach, kale, lemon, and ginger

Fresh vegetable sticks

Fresh vegetable sticks are without a doubt the easiest of all the alkaline snacks to enjoy because of all the beautiful colors you can eat as well as enjoying the fresh crunchy textures.

Vegetable sticks can be bought with you anywhere you want to go in a freshly sealed container.

My personal recommendation for enhancing this snack is with the addition of fresh lemon juice and a sprinkle of chili flakes.

And a recommended vegetable snack combo would be fresh sticks of cucumber, celery, carrots, bell peppers, snow peas, and pink radish.  

You could also prepare your vegetable sticks enough for 2 days in advance so you could just snack at any time and make a great choice.

An avocado

Wow! avocado is seriously a real alkaline superfood in my eyes. It’s not only delicious in any way but it’s full of healthy fats for good health, packed with essential minerals and vitamins for well-being, high in fiber to help you feel full and very low in sugar. Just half a medium avocado could give you so much satisfaction as an alkaline snack.

You may want to enjoy avocado with some fresh lemon juice, sea salt, and cracked pepper or simply as is. I love to sprinkle real salt over my avocado and just enjoy it with a spoon as a snacks. Others I know love to add some chili flakes or a drizzle of good quality Udo’s oil 3-6-9 blend. No matter how you like to enjoy your avocado there’s no doubt that it will energize you.

A great way to travel with it is purchasing an avocado storage container from Amazon.

Unsweetened Coconut Yogurt

Unsweetened coconut yogurt is full of healthy fats great for keeping one substantially satisfied and living probiotics for good gut health and digestion, making it a perfect alkaline snack. My recommended coconut yogurt brands are Coconut Cult, GTS Pure Coconut Yogurt, Lavva Plain Coconut Yogurt, Coyo Natural Coconut Yogurt, or simply making your own yogurt at home. I also enjoy refrigerating my organic canned full-fat coconut milk/cream and then scoop the thickest parts off into a bowl and add fresh lemon juice for a totally wholesome snack experience. YUM!

90% Dark Chocolate

90% Dark Chocolate contains high quantities of raw cacao beans causing this snack to be high in polyphenols an antioxidant that provides several health benefits. Look for 90% or higher quantity when purchasing your chocolate and note that raw chocolate is always best. Dark chocolate also contains fiber, minerals such as iron, calcium, zinc, and magnesium, and healthy fats that will keep you very satisfied and very happy! Or we would recommend making your own from raw cacao butter (or organic virgin coconut oil or almond butter), raw cacao powder, and stevia.

Soaked Raw Organic Almonds

Almonds are such a great alkaline snack especially when you soak raw organic almonds in pure water for a few hours and enjoy it with a dash of sea salt. Soaked raw organic almonds are full of healthy monounsaturated fats, magnesium, calcium, Iron, potassium, protein, and fiber. It’s a superfood in my honest opinion. Just one ounce of almonds about 28g will totally satisfy and honestly help you feel even better after eating. If I am heading to the office the next day I would soak my almonds the night before and then pat them dry before packing them in an air-tight container.

Cos Lettuce Salad Cups

Cos lettuce salad cups can be a great alkaline snacks because you can fill them with chopped avocado, grated carrot, sliced cucumber, cherry tomatoes,  Udo’s 3-6-9 oil blend, sea salt, and cracked pepper. Not only would this snack take about 5 minutes to make, but it’s full of living and nutrient-rich vegetables. This kind of snack may be enjoyed any time of day and you can become creative with it. The more vegetables are the better and adding small amounts of healthy fats makes it even tastier. I’d recommend Udo’s 3-8-9 blend oil, organic virgin coconut oil, organic tahini paste, toasted nuts or seeds for flavor.

Quick Shake

A quick green shake is a wonderful alkaline snack and may be made up of lots of alkaline vegetables and healthy fats for it to be super healthy and super tasty. Quick shakes are a great way to consume more living vegetables in a really delicious and easy way. Some of the ingredients I would suggest to include in your green smoothie is:



One of my current go-to recipes are:

  • ½-1 cucumber

  • 2 cups baby spinach

  • 1 cups unsweetened almond milk

  • ½ medium avocado

  • 1 tsp. Raw organic almond butter

  • Ice  

  • Stevia

Your quick smoothies could be made in your Nutribullet or blender and enjoyed in less than 5 minutes. The best way to make you smoothie nutrient-rich is by adding as many highly alkaline vegetables as you desire, some healthy fats, and plant-based milk. Your smoothie will be full of fiber to help you feel full and satisfied.
