The Angel – Hetton – a MICHELIN Guide Restaurant

Deep within the Yorkshire Dales National Park sits The Angel, a stunning stone-built inn with 15C origins; now a 21C restaurant with a dramatic, Nordic style courtesy of polished concrete floors and light wood furnishings.
Chef-owner Michael Wignall’s experience shows through in his food, with dishes demonstrating a natural simplicity that allows every ingredient on the plate to shine. Classic combinations are to the fore but are subtly modernised and refined, and there’s even an appealing children’s menu. The exuberant serving team explain every dish as it’s served and the kitchen are proud to use Yorkshire produce, although also aren’t afraid to go further afield on their hunt for the country’s finest ingredients. 
Bedrooms mix the classic and the contemporary and are spread about the village.
