Tony’s Seafood Restaurant – Point Reyes Insider

Tony’s Seafood is one of those restaurants that goes way back — serving as a place where locals gather for a plate of their favorite seafood and a cold beer for nearly 70 years. It recently changed hands, was lovingly renovated and is now part of the Hog Island Oyster Co. family of oyster farms and oyster bars.

Tony’s menu reads like a classic lineup of everyone’s favorite seaside fare: True Cod F&C, hands on shrimp, creamy clam chowder packed with fresh whole clams, oyster po’boys, seafood stew and of course, amazing raw and BBQ oysters pulled fresh out of the bay. All your favorites, with a focus on quality local ingredients and the culinary flair that West Marin is famous for.

Chef Matt Shapiro has played an integral role at Hog Island Oyster Co. since 2014 and now helms the kitchen at Tony’s Seafood. A fisherman and forager himself, Shapiro focuses on the entire product chain. “How it’s caught or harvested, how it’s handled, and how our purveyors are treating the land and sea—it all gets reflected on the plate.”
