RED : A Rising Vanguard of Collectible Design – SURFACE

Great location and ambiance. Friendly wait staff and no wait after making reservation. Plenty of parking for Saturday and you do get a great amount of food.However, there is plenty room for improvement. We had a party of 5 and all tried different dishes. Come to find out, they were “sold out” of an entree. This shouldn’t happen as it’s the weekend and the kitchen should be able to cook any entree on the menu. Also, salsas and guacamole had excessive onions in them which takes away from the flavor and taste. Tortillas were great but once again borracho beans had excessive onions in them. Ribs had no flavor. Lacked seasoning and overcooked. Beef fajita nachos were fine. However don’t anticipate your norm Mexican refried beans here. Grilled shrimp and chicken fajitas were fine. Nothing spectacular.We then ordered different cocktails from the bar and once again we were told “we don’t have that signature cocktail”…Again, bar should of had all ingredients to make a signature cocktail. Especially on a Saturday. I then ordered a shot of 1800 tequila, again told “we don’t have any. This was not a good impression of this restaurant for our first time.Overall this restaurant is ok. Not worth the trip from SA for what we paid. Expected a lot more since it’s sister company The Reel used to be a great place to go. This is a good place for locals and a quick bite.
