For a plantation, this place sure has a lot of stuff. Well, actually it’s not a plantation. But with 145 acres, a hotel, a condominium resort and most importantly a Rees Jones-designed championship Myrtle Beach golf course, it definitely brings to mind the grandeur of the South.

We’ve really just scratched the surface here. We haven’t mentioned the 50,000-square-foot Splash! oceanfront waterpark, the Sport and Health Club with spa and massage services or the clay and hard surface tennis courts. There are also several restaurants, lounges, drive-through establishments and more for onsite dining. But let’s get to the really good stuff.

Arcadian Shores is the onsite par 72 championship Myrtle Beach golf course, featuring five tee locations and a maximum distance of 6,857 yards. This traditional course features just about every natural wonder – and hazard – that’s common to Myrtle Beach, including freshwater lakes, Tifton Bermuda greens, fairways lined with live oaks and, of course, plenty of sand. It’s part of one of the largest Myrtle Beach resort complexes – pretty far from an actual plantation, but with every bit of charm and regality.

Highlights

Privately-owned one-, two-, three- and four-bedroom condominiums occupy the Brighton, North Hampton, South Hampton, and the luxurious new Margate Toweres overlooking the beaches of Kingston Plantation.

From Myrtle Beach Airport, turn right at first light onto Robert M. Grissom Parkway. Continue approximately seven miles and merge onto Hwy 31 North. Follow Hwy 31 North for approximately five miles to Hwy 22 East. From Hwy 22 take the Kings Road Exit, turning right at bottom of ramp.
