Welcome | Yale Golf Course

June 15, 2022

Dear Yale Golf Course enthusiasts,

I hope everyone has enjoyed the beginning of the 2022 golf season. Our playing turf transitioned well from the off-season with only minor winter desiccation. Green surfaces, fairways and tees remain healthy and we are confident on staying the course with our agronomic plan.

In April, we welcomed patrons back to the Yale Golf Course (YGC). My staff and I were met with tremendous support. At the beginning of May we experienced a quick transition from regular open play operations to NCAA Division I Men’s Golf Regional operations, and again with your support, we made a positive impact on the student-athletes, coaches, NCAA staff, volunteers and spectators.

The Yale commencements and reunions quickly followed in late May and early June. It was an amazing few weeks of welcoming the Yale community back to the YGC. My staff and I had the pleasure of meeting so many alums and congratulating the class of 2022 as they played their final golf rounds before transitioning to their next chapter in life.

We are very excited for famed golf course architect Gil Hanse, and his team’s, restoration of the YGC. In planning ahead, the YGC is expected to close fall 2023 to fall 2025. We will update you throughout the project. I can advise you that we are planning for a modified 2023 golf season and those exact months of opening will be determined and communicated later.

In the meantime, I encourage you all to visit the YGC website to book tee times and get the latest information. You can also follow the YGC on Twitter at @Yale_GolfCourse.

On behalf of our entire YGC team, we appreciate your continued support!

Respectfully,

Peter R. Palacios Jr.- General Manager, Yale Golf Course
