Wilmington café and shop to close after 37 years in business
There have been some changes over the years, in owners and a tweak of names, but Temptations Gourmet Café has been a part of the Wilmington dining scene for almost 40 years.
Now, the café and shop at 3501 Oleander Dr. in Hanover Center announced on social media Wednesday it would close.

“The tight labor market does not allow us to continue,” the post said.
Over the years, the restaurant has become popular spot for lunch. (Some comments on the post specifically mentioned the seafood bisque and turkey-brie-and-apple sandwiches.) It’s also a wine and candy shop that was well-known for customized gift baskets.
Food service at the café has already stopped. The store will remain open, possibly into next week, selling marked-down retail items.
The restaurant, which has also been known as Temptations Everyday Gourmet, has been in operation since 1984.
